As some of you know, I started practically stylish after my sister got a compliment on her outfit at work. At that time I had been shopping for her, and the week before the compliment I had attached style guides to each the new piece of clothing that I picked up for her. The style guides had three outfit ideas--work, casual, and dressy-- as well as color pairing suggestions. If you browse through my blog archives, you will notice that my early posts follow that same format. The first outfit that my sister tried from the style guides included a very bright citrine top paired with a navy and white polka dot scarf. It was a bolder and brighter combination than she was used to, but that morning a female colleague stopped her, exclaimed how great my sister looked, and wished that she could also have someone help to dress her. And the idea for practically stylish was born.
I never expected that my readership would grow beyond a handful of people. Now one of my favorite things is running into old friends and hearing that they love the blog and passed it on to their friends and coworkers. A practical approach to style may not create the most glamorous posts, but you lovely readers have shown me that it is appreciated. Thank you very much for all your support.
I have exciting plans for the third year of practically stylish so I hope you will stick around. As always, please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or suggestions. I want to make this blog a helpful resource to those who read it and your feedback makes that possible. I'm available by email, on social media, and in the comment section of my posts. I can't wait to hear from you and to start another year on this project!
