1. Always pack a dress even if the trip is supposed to be casual. It's better to be prepared for a last minute invite so you don't have to go shopping (or pass up the opportunity). My favorite option is a black jersey knit wrap dress because it travels well, can be easily accessorized, and is super versatile.
2. Bring a couple accessories to transform the pieces you already packed. A colorful skinny belt, a patterned scarf, and a piece of statement jewelry will let your clothes pull double or triple duty and keep you looking fabulous. If you are trying to keep your luggage minimal, pack outfits that are in a similar color palette so your shoes and accessories go with them all!
