Happy New Year's Eve! This is the final installment of the 12 Days of Holiday Parties outfit series. To see the entire collection of looks, click here. I hope you have enjoyed the daily inspiration. Be sure to leave a comment letting me know which outfit was your favorite!

The outfit:
A purple ombre, silk dress paired with a very glitzy crystal necklace and metallic pumps.

Where to wear it:
To your New Year's Eve celebration! This is the ultimate party outfit and since there are limited occasions to get dressed to the nines, we should take full advantage of the ones we have!

Why it works:
It never hurts to wear sparkly jewelry when you are trying to create a WOW outfit. The design of this dress creates a flattering shape and the ombre effect adds visual interest without using a bold pattern or texture. A party dress is hard to style badly so pull your favorite one out of the back of your closet and celebrate the new year!

12 days of holiday parties: ponte skirt

The new year is almost here and tomorrow will be the twelfth and final installment of the 12 Days of Holiday Parties outfit series! If you need to catch up, past posts can be found here.

The outfit:
A patterned ponte skirt paired back to a pink v-neck tee and a black blazer with grosgrain ribbon tie. Pair with black pumps.

Where to wear it:
To a friend's dinner party (or when you are hosting your own!) and as a festive work outfit on New Year's Eve.

Why it works:
I love ponte skirts in general, but a bold pattern definitely sweetens the pot. I chose the bright pink as the base of the outfit because I like to wear something besides red and green to holiday parties. The black blazer grounds the look and prevents it from looking like an Easter ensemble. Another way to style this skirt would be with a black long sleeve tee layered under a white open cardigan.

Only a couple days left of the 12 Days of Holiday Parties outfit series! If you want to catch up before the finale, past posts can be found here.

The outfit:
A white lace long sleeve tee is worn untucked (to show off the scalloped edge detail) over a zebra patterned wool skirt. A grey dolman sleeve cardigan with satin tie is layered over the tee and the red necklace adds an accent color. Finish with tights and black wedges or ballet flats.

Where to wear it:
This is a great New Year's Eve outfit if you are going to a party at a friend's house (or anywhere else where it won't be so crowded that people will spill their drinks on your white top). I also love this outfit as a wintertime Sunday brunch look.

Why it works:

The color palette is subdued, but the individual pieces have a lot of interesting details. The fabrics feel seasonal (which is always a plus for creating a holiday party look) and the textures make the outfit look cozy, but still chic.

Looking for more inspiration to create the perfect New Year's Eve ensemble? Catch up on past posts here. New outfits will be posted daily until December 31st.

The outfit:
A black sweater tucked into green and black printed pants and topped with a metallic gold blazer and gold belt. A sequin bag and black pumps finish the look.

Where to wear it:
Out to dinner at your favorite restaurant or when the temps get so low that you can't bear the thought of wearing a skirt or dress.

Why it works:
The outfit picks up the black and taupe accents from the diamond print in the pants so there are not too many competing colors. Gold, black, and green are all common colors for holiday outfits, but putting the bold pattern on the bottom gives it a modern twist.
