Over the holiday weekend, I had the opportunity to restyle some of Jane's new clothes, including this fabulous new citrine scarf. This bright and fresh color adds an extra pop to any outfit and helps to create a summery feel.
I first paired the scarf with a jean skirt and a striped 3/4 sleeve pullover. I love being able to play up an accent color in a top (in this case the small citrine stripe) by making it the primary accessory color. This allows you to have a high contrast outfit with fewer worries about whether or not the color combination is "right."
Another fun way to add a pop is to put it against a very neutral backdrop. I paired a white lace tee with ivory & black dot cropped pants and defined the waist with a silver skinny belt. This base is light and simple and allows the bright citrine to take centerstage. I love this as an alternative to a little black dress for a dinner out. Just add a nude or silver heel!
Don't be scared of scarves just because it is summertime- most destinations have air conditioning and there are plenty of silk or summer weight scarves that won't make you sweat!
